With so many events on any given day, how do you choose which one to attend? Do you go because you like the venue or do you go because you support the charity? What influences your decision?
What is the mission of UCP?
United Cerebral Palsy Sarasota-Manatee, Inc. serves the community by providing a full array of beneficial services and resources to individuals with disabilities and their families and by advocating their full independence, productivity, and citizenship. We also educate through public awareness, fund-raising efforts, dissemination of information and acquisition of resources.
I don’t know about you, but I have a handful of friends who have children with disabilities, autism being a common one . UCP assists people who have developmental disabilities including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy,
mental retardation, down syndrome, autism and other disabilities. They serve as an advocate to do whatever it takes to assist people with disabilities to live valued lives in the community while advancing their independence.
The people I know who have children with disabilities and or adults with them, really need the service UCP offers.
The Sophisticated Strut is one of four events planned to help raise money for several charities, according to Susan Short; Publisher of Family Beautiful Magazine and one of the sponsors for the event. The event offers you an opportunity to experience the Ritz Carlton Beach Club Terrace while having a healthy gourmet luncheon with champagne and wine included. The event will raise money for UCP via a $50 ticket, a Chinese style auction which allows you to purchase raffle tickets where you place the ticket in one of ten baskets offered by local companies and a silent auction. Some of the raffle prizes include passes to the Ritz Carlton Golf Club, day passes to the resort, exclusive bottles of wine and more.
Live music provided during by Steve Avery and Rebecca Bird, both who will donate their time and will play during the fashion show. Fashion provided by Hearts Desire thanks to owner Vicki Rollo. Hair and makeup provided by Blue Door Spa who has also donated a Chinese auction item. I was told included in every gift bag is a unique one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry along with several significant gift certificates.
If you’ve haven’t experienced the Ritz Carlton Beach Club and would like to have an enjoyable luncheon overlooking the Gulf of Mexico all while helping to improve the lifestyles of people with disabilities, then come support UCP by purchasing a ticket on the following website TODAY: http://sophisticatedstrut.eventbrite.com/ or call Hearts Desire (941) 302-1069.
